Ruth the Sleuth and the Messy Room was the 30th story I had written and the second to be published as a book. In October 2010 I saw a call for submissions on the SCBWI discussion boards from a new publishing company that sounded like a fit for my work. I submitted Ruth the Sleuth and the Messy Room and heard back seven months later that the publisher was interested.
Then in July 2013 I found out that Ruth the Sleuth and the Messy Room was selected to receive the Children's Literary Classics Seal of Approval. The CLC Seal of Approval is a designation reserved for those books which uphold the rigorous criteria set forth by the Children's Literary Classics review committee, a team comprised of individuals with backgrounds in publishing, editing, writing, illustration and graphic design. Awesome!
Ruth the Sleuth has a new publisher, Mazo Publishers as of February 2018, in a large print paperback edition.
